1) Carlos Villalobos, 23, and his mother Maria Villalobos, 52, from "Grupo La Rosa" performs "La Negra"during National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug 7, 2007 in Santa  Monica. Maria began teaching Carlos Folklorio dancing when he was 7 years old. National Night Out is designed to: Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts; Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. 2-4) The "Grupo La Rosa" performs 'Baile Folklorico.' 5-6) The Wonderelles perform 50's songs and dance routines during National Night Out. 7) Contestants compete in a dance competition during the event.
